1. Windows 10

 Windows 10 is Microsoft's latest operating system. It was released in July 2015 and is currently the newest version of Windows. Windows 10 comes with many improvements over previous versions. There are some features that make Windows 10 unique, including Cortana, Edge browser, and the Universal Windows Platform (UWP).

 2. Windows 8.1

 Windows 8.1 is the current version of Windows 8. It was released in October 2014 and is still being updated today. Windows 8.1 includes many improvements over its predecessor, Windows 8. These improvements include a new Start screen, improved search function, and the return of the Charms bar.

 3. Windows 7

 Windows 7 is the last major release of Windows. It was released in November 2009 and was the first version of Windows to use the Metro interface. Windows 7 included many improvements over its predecessors, including faster boot times, improved security, and the return of classic desktop mode.

 4. Windows Vista

 Windows Vista is the sixth major release of Windows. Released in January 2007, it was the first version of the OS to feature the Aero user interface. Windows Vista introduced many new features, including the introduction of the Windows Sidebar, Windows Explorer, and Windows Media Player.

 5. Windows XP

 Windows XP is the fifth major release of Windows. Its initial release date was September 2001 and it was the first version to run on 64-bit processors. Windows XP introduced many new features, such as Internet Explorer 9, Windows Media Center, and Windows Messenger.

 6. Windows 2000

 Windows 2000 is the fourth major release of Windows. Originally released in April 1999, it was the first edition of Windows to run on 32-bit processors. Windows 2000 introduced many new features, like the Windows Desktop Experience, Windows Update, and Windows Messenger. Windows 2000 was discontinued in April 2008.

 7. Windows 98

 Windows 98 is the third major release of Windows. Initially released in June 1998, it was the first Windows to run on 16-bit processors. Windows 98 introduced many new features, most notably the Windows Desktop Experience, Internet Explorer 5, and Windows Messenger. In May 2002, Microsoft announced that they would no longer develop any further updates for Windows 98.

8. Windows ME

Windows ME was released in 1998, and it is no loner supported by Microsoft. If your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for Windows 10, then you can download Windows ME from Microsoft's website. If you are looking for a free alternative, you can try Linux Mint.
