1. Cricket
Cricket is a sport played between two teams of 11 players each. Each team has five fielders (or wickets) who try to prevent their opponents from scoring runs by hitting the ball with a bat. A cricket match consists of two innings, each lasting about three hours. In the first inning, the batting side scores runs by hitting the ball using a bat called a bat. The fielding side tries to stop the batsman from scoring runs by catching the ball before it hits the ground. If the batsman makes a run, he or she gets out. If the batsman does not make a run, he or her stays at the crease until they are dismissed.
2. Bowling
Bowling is the act of throwing the ball towards the wicket. Bowlers aim to hit the stumps behind the batter's box. To score a run, the batter must reach base safely. Once the batter reaches home plate, the bowler throws the ball again. If the batter fails to catch the ball, then the batter is out.
3. Batting
Batting is the act of hitting the ball with a stick called a bat. Batsmen use their bats to hit balls thrown by bowlers. There are many different types of bats, including wooden bats, aluminum bats, and composite bats. Wooden bats have been around since ancient times. Aluminum bats were invented in the early 1900s. Composite bats were developed in the 1970s.
4. Fielding
Fielding is the act of catching the ball after it is hit by the batsman. Fielders stand in front of the wickets and attempt to catch the ball before it bounces back onto the pitch. Fielders can use gloves to help them catch the ball.
5. Wicket Keeping
Wicket keeping is the position where the keeper stands behind the wickets. The keeper catches any balls that go over the boundary line. The keeper also keeps track of how many runs the batters get.
6. Stumps
Stumps are the posts that mark the boundaries of the playing area. When a batsman misses the ball, the umpire calls him or her out if the ball touches the stumps.
7. Umpires
Umpires are referees who call whether a player is safe or out. An umpire may call a batsman out if the ball hits the stumps or if the ball goes over the boundary line.
