Shree Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. (August-September). Krishna Janmashtami marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, who was born on the eighth day of Chaitra Navaratri. He was the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. His birthday is celebrated as Krishna Jayanti.
Lord Krishna is considered to be the supreme incarnation of God. He is known as Vyasa's son and his mother Devaki's daughter. He is the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is the savior of mankind and the redeemer of souls. He is also called Balarama, Govinda, Krsna, Madhava, Nanda Baba, Narayana, Rama, Radha, Sita, Subhadra, Sudama, Vasudeva, Yajnas, Yadu, and Ananta.
The festival of Janmashtami commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna. On this occasion, devotees offer prayers to Lord Krishna. People worship him by offering flowers, fruits, sweets, etc.
On this auspicious occasion, people celebrate various rituals and customs. One of them is the celebration of Janmashtami. In India, Janmashtami falls on August-September.
Janmashtami is observed on the eighth day of bright half of the month Bhadrapada. There are two different ways to observe Janmashtami. One way is to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna on the eighth day of Bhadrapada. Another way is to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna on the ninth day of Bhadrapada.
In both cases, people celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna by offering prayers to him. On this occasion, they pray to Lord Krishna and ask Him to bless their lives. They also offer prayers to Lord Krishna to protect them from evil forces.
